Why I read a book a day (and why you should too): the law of 33% | Tai Lopez | TEDxUBIWiltz – YouTube

Law of Mentors, Law of 33% (About 7:30 into the video)

  • 33% below you
  • 33% same level as you.
  • 33% 20 years ahead you. They will make you feel uncomfortable, but that is what you want.

Mistake, finding someone a little better than them. Blind leading the blind

Find someone 10x better than you. Do not be afraid to go to the top.

Everybody wants the good life, but you must be willing to follow the rules.

Humility

You have to humble

Perseverance

Do not stop. Not everyone is willing to perservere

Books, some of the greats are no longer alive

  • Sam Walton, 160 Billion, $5.00 book
  • Gandhi
  • Shakespeare

Books are like friends that you should read over and over. 150 of them. There is 130 million and you cannot read that many, but 150 can you read.

Read like a gold miner.

Read one book a week.

Must read more!!!!!

Stoic vs Epicurean. Nations are born Stoic and died Epicurean

  • Stoic
  • Epicurean — live for now. Only live once. If you are in a room, and you do not know who the sucker is?  You are the sucker. Know who the sucker is in the room.

Luxury comes at a cost. It kills hopes, dreams and ambitions.  Be a stoic.

  • Week without sugar
  • Walked instead of taking a car
  • Turned off the air conditioner
  • Toughen yourself up
  • Take a cold shower

Everybody wants, but not willing to tough up to get the good life.
